How to build a strong EB-1A profile.
Which EB-1A criteria to target as an industry professional.
What is considered a strong EB-1A profile?
If you can show that you have risen to the top of your field (top 1-5%), you probably have a strong EB-1A profile. Applicants who have strong profiles tend to have a strong anchor criterion (leading or critical role, original contributions or both) and can show definitive evidence that they have risen to the top of their field through significant contributions to their industry.
How to build a strong EB-1A profile
Profile-building is not just about doing as many activities in your field as possible nor is it about meeting as many criteria as possible.
To start building a strong profile, you need to first have a strong foundation to your profile, which starts with one or two things that you have done that show that you have risen to the top of your field.
For example:
Through your role at your company, you have helped lead a team that has generated millions in revenue.
You have helped save thousands in man-hours for your company.
You have helped generate millions in cost savings.
Without these one or two things that on their own show that you have risen to the top of your field, you will most likely not be able to present a strong profile regardless of the number of activities you do.
Which EB-1A criteria should you target?
Target criteria based on the kinds of activities that would make sense for your experience and overall profile. For most industry professionals, these are the criteria to target (outside of leading or critical role):
High salary.
Judging.
Authorship.
Membership.
