Mistakes to avoid (when building your EB-2 NIW profile)

A lot of you are currently profile-building for EB-2 NIW.

Here are mistakes to avoid:

• Focusing on your expertise and contributions to your company instead of contributions to an area of national interest outside of your work with your company.

• Cramming all your profile-building into a few months instead of showing a natural continuity of activities that relate to a proposed endeavor.

• Targeting EB-1A-related opportunities (unlike for EB-1A, activities like mentoring, volunteering, speaking at student events, etc. can help with EB-2 NIW).
